Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long until I get my pictures?

Carsyn aims to deliver personal session galleries within 2 weeks of your shoot. Horse show galleries and orders take priority — so if your session lands before or after a show, you could see a delay. During the busier seasons, editing may take a little longer, but Carsyn will always let you know at the end of your session where you are in the queue so you’ll have a clear idea of when to expect your gallery.

2. Are digital images included in my session, how will I get my images?

Every session comes with a private online gallery and a built-in store for easy ordering. You’ll receive free, watermarked social-media-sized images to download and share. If you’d like fully released, high-resolution digital images without watermarks, you can add them to your session package or purchase them individually through your gallery store after your session.

3. Where are you located, do you travel?

10-R is based in north-central Iowa, just outside the small town of Alexander, but we happily serve clients across Iowa and the surrounding states. Travel within 30 miles of our home base is included. Beyond that, we do add a small travel fee to cover gas — but if Carsyn is already in your area for another session or show, that fee is waived.

4. Do you offer digital files, prints, or albums?

Booking is simple! Just use the 'Book Your Session' button on our site to choose your session date and time. You’ll also fill out a short form and sign your contract all in one spot. Once that’s done, Carsyn will reach out to confirm the details and adjust the timing if needed. After that, we get to the fun part — planning your perfect session!

5. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens — we get it! If you need to reschedule due to weather or unexpected conflicts, just reach out and we’ll find a new date that works. Deposits are non-refundable, as they hold your spot on our calendar, but if you reschedule your session, your deposit can be applied to the new date. If you need to cancel completely, we ask for at least 2 days’ notice.

6. What’s the difference between social media images and fully released images?

Social media images are watermarked and sized for easy posting online — perfect for Instagram, Facebook, or sharing with friends, with prints only available through the 10-R store. Fully released images are high-resolution, non-watermarked files that YOU can print, make albums with, or use anywhere without restrictions. Fully released images are available as an add-on in booking or individually through your gallery store.

7. What if my horse isn’t cooperative? Can you bring help?

Carsyn works patiently with every horse, keeping sessions calm, fun, and low-stress. If needed, she can bring an assistant to help manage your horse, making sure both horse and rider are comfortable and safe. Carsyn guides poses and capture genuine moments while keeping the experience relaxed for everyone.

8. Do you shoot weddings?

10-R specializes in equine and equestrian photography, so weddings aren’t something we take on. That said, Carsyn knows some amazing wedding photographers she’d be happy to recommend if you’re looking for someone to capture your big day!
